Ouch!

Post pics & videos of your scooter, projects you're working on, a lovely Vespa that you saw at a rally, or anything else scooter related.

I think, though I'm not 100% sure, that the pic posted by Ricspeed, may be a Vietnamese bodge job.

The frame literally collapsed- there is no evidence of a frontal impact.

Ain't filler wonderful :D

Accident happened on way to Morecambe April '85. Hit an Escort van that was comming the other way, and turned right. Nearly cut the thing in half.
Broke femur on headset as I went over handlebars, then landed stood up. Leg was 8 inches shorter.
Touch n go whether they could save leg.
Was in traction for just over 6 months, on crutches for over a year after that. 2 years off work.
Had 6 other operations on it since, although luckly non in the last 15 years.
Its just over an inch shorter than me other leg and knee aint that good.
Cant spend to long on the dance floor now days and the Mrs cant get it doggy style, (from me anyway).

This used to be my GS160 Mk I that I crashed in Switserland coming back from Croatia two years ago when a Russian woman in a rental Mercedes SUV failed to stop and pulled out in front of me.
Still have the frame in my workshop... God I loved that scooter!

Life shouldn't be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty, well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, loudly proclaiming: "WOW, WHAT A RIDE"
