Rebuilding my lammy S3 150 special with an old SR barrel.
The barrel is ROUGH inside and needs tidying up and re-honing, casings are blasted and ready for the SR kit.
Funds are tight so ive got to keep me costs LOW.
Im looking at using a clubman and a possibly a 25mm carb, and 12V kit.

Im after suggestions on how to get the most out of this set up and gearing tips.

take it out to 200 cc's (66mm) and tidy up all the ports.

Done this a couple of times with very good, cheap results

i am currently doing one out to 200cc
with a yamaha ct1 175 piston and a old sil gcrank with a 115mm yamaha
rd 400 conrod. cylinder was £20.piston was £25.crank was free but cost £100
to get converted.then its about £30 for the rebore and £20 for the head.
so £195 for me in total with a crank i can trust and a top quality wiseco
piston from ebay.dont think you can beat that !
i have a horrible feeling.things are going to go bang

Thanks for that.
What size carbs work best with that set up?
Do you guys widen the transfers / add any extra ports? like explained here on this website:

Hi LS, have been running one of Dave Betts (SES TUNING -RIP MATE) for the last couple of years and it's been cleaned up and xfers opened up and matched to crankcase. Running a 28mm Dellorto with a 42mm clubman.

Good luck SKP.
