Who currently makes the best repro badges - legshield and side panel? I've seen both ally and steel/chrome in pics, but which are most faithful to the original?

Currently comparing Casa, ScootRS and others I can't identify.

PS - I've been cross-referencing pics on line, as I'm in Australia and there isn't a surfeit of scooter shops here...

Dan,

One of the major problems with re-pro badges is that they are flat, and then chromed. When you bend them to the shape of your legshields, the chrome flakes off as the chrome can't bend with the metal underneath. Very frustrating.

If you are sourcing these parts, it's worth checking if they are already bent to shape.

WARNING: some repro badges have different pin-locations.
so in theory you would have to drill extra holes and or file down some pins and help with "super glue"..

I wouldn't trust superglue, I don't think it's waterproof. You would be better off using clear silicon on the pegs or araldite.

I´m just putting on new NOS Innocenti legshield badges on my (late) SX only to find our that even these are not fitting 100%.
On both SPECIAL and LAMBRETTA there is one pin 1-2mm out of line. So allways make a dry build before going to the paintshop.
Apart from the originals I think the Casa ones are very close to the original.

Following a request for best source for a rear frame badge I was told to give Jem Booth a shout and I'm glad I did - received exactly what I asked him for and it was the right price and an efficient service to boot.

I only know how to contact him via LCGB forum though
If it aint broke.........tinker with it.....
