I bought an F reg gp200 from Len Turners (his old shop) It was black with orange stripes.
It had a battery trap but a battery wasnt fitted, the lights kept blowing every time I went out at night. In the end Len changed the stator and fitted a 12v battery with and external rectifier with positive earth.Month after I bought it they changed to electronic ignition

Flippin 'eck, Andy, you must have been way too young to sign the HP forms
I got a new Jet 200 from Turners in 1980. It was one of the ones that Creveta (?) imported into the UK after the Indian GP supplies dried up. I wasn't too young to sign the HP forms
Surenos, I agree with you about the electrics on those Indian GPs. Not good.

i always fancied the idea of a brand new lambretta i thought the black with orange stripes looked the dogs, but all the horror stories of dodgy electrics &afta the cost of a brand new scooter there was then the cost of havin electronic ignitions etc fitted anyone remember the trend of D.T.C etc race replicas filling the magazines month after month all sorted with Ts1 kits i couldnt stretch 2 that unfortunately, the only indian gp i ever had was a pile o s**t i could fill pages with problems i had with it &it finally gave up for good by the roadside in kings lynn on the return from yarmouth
