Nothing wrong with Sava whitewalls these days (apart from the white bit), they're no worst than Conti whitewalls. The compound they use now is far improved from what they were using 5 years or so ago. It's like comparing Skodas of 15 years ago with what they produce today. When Schwalbe eventually release the Weatherman whitewalls it'll make the Sava & Contis redundant anyway.

The bit about the racers using Sava wets is true.

split rims, airstop tubes, and 3.50x10 Schwalbe Pacemans, awesome in the dry, my exhaust grounds out both sides well before the tyres hint at squirming. in the rain I drive slow and head for home. not the best tyres for mileage on the rear though.

Paul, I seem to recall a mad scramble to remove the TT in favour of Savas the minute a few specs of rain hit the visor. :P

Sava MC20's are deffo the best in the wet though! Especially around Three Sisters! :shock:

I suppose the 90% of the BSSO grid must be wrong then.......... Modern Vespa must be right! Maybe they all go faster when its wet! :moon: :moon: :moon: :moon:

didnt realise you guys raced gt 200,s
or have even use the same size tyre and compound
the gts250 savas are ditch finders (i know having owned a gts 250)
ive used savas on the 996 and they were awsome
its horses for courses differant tyres differant compounds

the original thread was about tyres on Lambrettas!!??? hence my comment... which was specifically about wet weather race tyres :roll: :roll: ;) ;)
