dont mean to be rude mark, but surely the disc has got to be a better route,i hardly use the back brake when i'm out racing around but i'm sure the outboard disc is an improvement worthy of recognition ,so far the outboard i have seen and used is great untill you get a puncture then it is a tw@7 of job (especially in the rain) to remove the rear wheel,an inboard disc (hidden under the hub)may be an advantage i wonder if others would give an opinion on this subject?

But theres gotta be a market for a cheaper mid range brake..? The discs I have used seem a bit harsh and I wouldnt want to brake hard in poor road conditions with one..this could be a cheaper alternative to disc brakes..this systems been used on cars like minis (old ones) for years and I believe could have a real place in the scooter world..And keep our lammys looking as they did when new but with better braking..

Happy New Year Joe..

this looks like the dac boys work ,no expense spared and very nice too,but way too expensive for its purpose.ihave the 'ducati' scooter in my workshop and the external disc looks super it is far too good on the solo and spend most of its time locking the rear wheel, would be suitable on ralph's outfit but again ,big job to change the rear wheel!
incidently how much is the dac wheel and brake assembly?
happy new year
best regards

That looks like a great idea. Outboard rear discs add a massive amount of unsprung weight which has to totally destroy the handling. Lambrettas have way too much unsprung weight by design and adding that much is a retrograde step. The hydraulic kit above looks like a great solution and will easily be powerful enough.

That is a DAC rear disc. It has done away with the rear cone and has a new hub made from EN24T which go's direct on to the splines. The rear wheel is made out of soild billet which is fixed onto the hub with five fixings, same as the dragster.
I have seen to many rear hubs give way under power and to many broken limbs. Yes they are not cheap but at 90mph+ and 40 BHP under your arse, you have piece of mind.
Price around £500 but look what you get.
Sorry to over take your thread Mark. See your in the morning ;)
