rebuild issues need help!

I don't know about reeds etc. BUT I had a godawful fight with my trike yesterday - wouldn't start for love nor money (I keep the trike in the garage). Plenty of petrol getting through, a nice spark when held outside against the frame. What was wrong with it?? It was too cold for it to do its thing. I put the spark plug on the cooker to warm the threaded end, on a low light mind, didn't need it red hot, just too hot to bear on your hand. Put it back on the trike - fired up first time. Ken.

How many turns out is you air screw. Also once you foul the plug, you should try a different one.

have not checked the airscrew but it has not been tampered with but will check tomorrow and yes changed plugs but i dont have an ifinite supply

Is the piston the right way round

done that one before in my youth but im sure that its not the case this time although the syptoms are similar (the odd backfire everything looking fine but wont start!)
