The MB speedo could have temp sensors, etc in them. Its just how much will people pay for them. Apparently 2 years ago Mark had a prototype with all the gubbins on it but was rationalised to bring the cost down.
What I think will happen is the current one will go into production and if the demand is there then higher spec’d versions will appear.

..Bells on it..Mag wrote:Speedo, rev counter and clock. Will record max speed, revs and has a couple of trips. Sorry no temperature or fuel. but what do you want for a very accurate speedo for under £70? And you don't need to modify your headset.
Well I will certainly be buying one thats a fact..

sugarlump fitted a vapour into his vespa headset, i have one fitted into my leg shield it does work better with a battery, i don't have a battery tray so was worried where to put one then came across this on the trail tech site,
http://www.trailtechproducts.co.uk/acat ... itors.html
Electrical: 12V 3700 mAh NiMH Battery for Vehicle Mount
Part Number: 040-BATT3.7
it's small enough to bolt to the rear mudguard and i now have the computer supplied with power, lights that don't dip when i brake and a loud horn.

TS1 and PX stay in the garage (future barn finds) out on the GTS 300 when I go out on a scooter.
I know I’ll get there and back

Mark popped into the Trail Tech UK HQ yesterday and sent me this.
"I was at Trail Tech head quarters last night and we discussed many things with Roy as usual.
He showed me some new products
One was a GPS speedo, which also leaves a bread crumb to get you home, aimed at the trail riders amongst us!
It had other features as well but not a rev counter, no price at the moment but they are smaller than the Vapor.
There are also engine running time gauges and a few others things but nothing to suit the scooter market really, unless your an auto racer.
They now also do a black Vapor instead of silver."

when you say" bread crumb" do you mean it retraces where you've been? as that's some thing my tom tom could do withIan Hepworth wrote:Mark popped into the Trail Tech UK HQ yesterday and sent me this.

That's not what Mark said to me the other day. The issue is that each batch is tested rather than just sold, thereby making the paying public pay to test a new product. Which would you rather have, an unproven speedo or one that's been thoroughly but a little delayed?sydduckett wrote:I spoke to mb a month or so ago and they said that vthe speedos would be a year away....
The improvements I asked Mark for are on the next batch and if these prove ok I see no reason why they won't go straight into production.

On the basis of we have been waiting 40 years to get a speedo that works, whats another year. If we have to keep waiting while they then test fuel, EGT sensors and they incorporate a satnav and a choice of voice commands, I will settle for what they have now. Now please while they are at a price we can afford
