i have listened to all comments, ref overheating of rb engines useing the mikuni tmx 35

isit the right carb or not :?: i have used one for years with no probs, just worried about the mid section running lean around 55 to 60 is this a common fault :!: i have known some tunners to go down to 58/290 main whats that about :?:
i use augusto 57/340 no filter and franspeed race, but have not realy sustained top speed for longe distances i always very my speed to allow the engine to cool

anway has anyone done some sustained test dino runs useing this carb, and augusto box
if so what were the results :!: ie jetting and timing

I've tested one. With mappable ignition. And I found due to the lack of adjustment it basically couldnt be made to perform as well as the dellorto overall.

the dellys allow for more variation across the lower/mid range as they are far more adjustable in these areas

As Sean says really.
Midrange was too lean.. you'd try to compensate but there isnt any getting away from the lack of atomiser to change. Mikunis were designed more for a 'type' of motor and not as a generic carb. Our requirements demand more fueling at certain points that is a struggle to jet for in some cases with this carb.

Ive changed from the TMX35 to the TMX30 PJ as some others have, i dont run a ETG so cant rearly coment as regards the heat issue, but ive not had any problems with sieze,s or holded pistons, and no loss in performance useing this carb. You can change the atomiser on this carb but i think theres only 2 thats any use to us. Iam not saying its the best carb for the RB22 but it does seem a improvement over the 35mm in my case. There are clearence issues and you,ll have to shorten the inlet manifold, but shortening the inlet manifold would benifit you if your useing the 35mm IMO.
