evening guys,

can anybody help me out..

nearly completed my gp rebuild, problem i've got is my headlight rim doesn't fit my headset..

i've got a chrome cast one doesn't fit...

so i bought a new one from quality chrome at bridlington last weekend, doesn't fit....

any ideas, surely italian and indian are interchangable...

s**t lee youre having have a laugh matey.. :D ..Problem 1..ye should have filled it up to make sure it fitted flush..Problem 2..Ye now gonna have to file it to fit flush..Problem 3..you will have to get re-painted buddy..But it will fit correct and look correct..

Live and learn Lee..still love that colour Lee....Looking at the fingerprints on the rim mate you have had few goes fitting it matey..And no italian and indian are like chalk and cheese.. :D

had to buy 4 before i got one that fitted pal. then i reckon i got lucky,, as Abraham Lincoln once said,,,,, you need to endever to persevere!!! if you catch my drift,,,


best bet is drag it round Kettering parts fair and try them for size before you buy,,,. a bugger but at least you get one to fit..

if your carefull and lucky..........you could still make it fit with a bit of filing etc...........

I did dry build just didn't think i needed to fit the rim, just did all the panel work..

looks like i'll have to get the dremmel out AGAIN :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:

i've got 4 rims now, ha ha

i had to take some off the inside of the rim and the top and bottom of the head set all the way round

As are some of the Indian made cast chrome plated rims, mine fitted with very little fettling................

Keep smiling Lee it will be worth it in the end..I promise...After you file around the headset ask your painter to mask the main body off and just touch up the inset youve filed and jobs a good un..My new one was from Ressurection Scooters and needed very little fettle good all round fit, from memory I think thats where rog got his from as well.. :D
