Using an angle grinder to date, a bit brutal and too lazy to use a hacksaw blade

Invite a mate round get them to cut with saw whilst you pretend to do something else.

it can easily be cut in a lathe with a parting tool,

capstan and turret lathes are made for that sort of thing (production batches) but a standard sliding surfacing and screwcutting lathe (sss lathe) like yours should be ok as long as you are not cutting long pieces

put the steel down the spout of the lathe,

and use a support to stop the length sticking out from the back of the headstock from flapping about and bending,

lock the tool post in position,

lock the tailstock in position and use that as a guide to obtain the lengths that you are cutting,

use a parting tool to cut off the 35mm pieces,

otherwise use leighs idea
