I was thinking of getting a stainless tank for my RB260, but this has put me right off. I remember having a chat with Jerome about stainless tanks and barrel wear a few years back, but dismissed it. It makes you think though...... Has anyone else experienced this? I dont want to wreck my expensive engine for the sake of a shiny tank.
I don't want to keep up with modern traffic. I want to hoon past it, preferably on one wheel!

If you do decide to buy a stainless tank, first flush it out several times then use Petseal or equivalent before fitting then it will be OK for use
I do not try to explain why I ride Lambrettas,
For those who understand, no explanation is necessary,
For those who don't, no explantion is possible.

What do you flush it out with?

I just sat 2 stroke in it for a week turning it every day. Went in pink came out grey with bits galore....so did it again till nothing visible. Then petsealed it. RB250 1500 miles AF built no signs of topend wear :bouncing:
What do you do with the grey two stroke? Tip it down the sink?
