Thanks for the pic Mark

So I assume to short refers to to short upper-to-lower ( not left-to-right) am I right ?

How big is that gap ?
Any chance to pile up the foot boards with washes or similar to make is look smaller ?

Thanks again

I took the chance and bought a pair. Shipping costs as much as the panels, instantly doubling the price.

The stamped panels look okay except for two issues.

1 They are too short
2 They are not drilled for badges or flashes

Aside from the appearance, the shortness is a problem when mounting them onto the scooter. The latches will not reach the spring. Fortunately, I had an old spare so I bent it up so the latches could reach it.

The gap is bigger than it appears in the photo. (TWSS)

The Lambretta body bits panels dont have holes either - It was a right pain but not the end of the day.

It would be nice if these were pressed with the original press but I guess that would substantially add to the tooling cost

Ref the gap - how much of a difference does different rubber beading make? i've seen people use indian rubber to get a bigger gap before?

Cheers,

I've only seen these panels mounted on the bike pictured in person and the gap is larger than what shows. The floor rail is obscuring some of that gap. The other stamped panels I've held in my hand looked good but they weren't mounted. If I were buying them I'd want some guarantee that they don't fit like these shown do.

As far as I know, there is a company in Vietnam stamping these and all the shops are buying them from the same place.

The gap is pretty freakin huge I guess!

It would be good to see them on another scooter for comparison.

My lambretta bodybits ones are really tight to the floorboards. So tight that road scum that got trapped to the bottom of my panel (open mouth carb) has left a line of chips along my floorboard!

Couple photos taken today. Gap seems smaller than the original panel. Clips fit fine at the back.

Btw, we often hear there can only be one real supplier of something in Vietnam, not sure why. I remember an LCGB admin adamantly insisting that about rims here for some odd reason. It is almost always incorrect. There are various panels being made, and I could probably go out and buy 5 different local versions of our exhaust or disc brake today. I'm often surprised to see certain UK shops selling the cheapest local Vietnam stuff as-is when we know it's wrong. If we do buy local items we often have to redo them all inhouse; others are simply no good so we make them ourselves. That costs a bit of time and money but not long-term.

For example, here's a local dirt floor shop with a copy of our disc kit with some plate bolted behind it:

Dear Scoot RS

What response could we have expected from you but that your part are excelent ? ;->

I'm and everyone else on the forum are interested in getting independant oppinions about the parts, your oppinion is with all your respect - not independant.
What I've seen in the dicsussion so far, there is no one trying to "blacken" your reputation. Still I'm thankful for the honesty in replying using your company name rather than write the replies using "ghost writer" signarures.

If you suspect that the parts Mark has suppied a photo of are not your parts - the least you can do is to supply a poto from the same angle Mark did and write how many mm the gap is (form the angle your photos is taken every gap is bocemes invisible). And you can also assure potential customers that your panels are not short and that there is no need to manipulate the latch spings to get it working and that your customers will be compensated if the fit is bad. Can you do that (pic, and declare) ?

I think we are still awaiting the result from Stians test of his panels.

Best Regards

Blimey! Give the guy a break. Someone asks if ScootRS panels fit so he posts a photo and says yes they do.

For a lot of people the default response to anything he says is that he must be a liar.

All I'm saying is to ask whomever you are buying panels from to check for fit on the pair you are purchasing.

Dear All

I think I'll by a pair in any way.

It will probably be a few weeks before I've compleeted my orderlist to ScootRS and panels get to Sweeden.

I'll try them on the scooter and post a picture on the forum.

If Stian has tried his on and posted some pics the rest of you can compare the result

Best Regards
