jet 200 engine identification

whats the easyiest way to distingwish a jet200 engine from other lambretta engines, its ment to be a 1975/76 model, frame number matches engine, but engine number does look a bit scratched and scraped at

just curious!

on servetas engin n° + frame n° are always identical.

longer rear shock mount, not sure when that came in
later ones had neutral light switch

They usually have 3 black rubber plugs at the rear hub area,seen from the kickstart side.

Next to the gear selector they have a strange metal spot.

Inside the crankcase they have a 'Batman' :D symbol.

The best way to identify a JET 200 engine is by the 6 digit number which is always in between 550001 and 567***. Lynx engines are also in the sequence 860*** or 880***.

The other points mentioned in this post are applicable to age/year specific engines. Basically early JET engines are identical to Innocenti ones (aparts from the casting marks and the 6 digit numbers). Middle and later production ones have the neutral switch hole above the gear selector + (sometimes) the holes for the rear brake rubber bungs.
