How are they calibrated, can they be recalibrated to suit a different scale on a different face?

there is a variable resistor inside that can be used to fine tune it, maybe just the sensitivity in fact?
but I was planning to use a mechanical tach on the flywheel and see how accurate it was, then [most likely] end up making a new face with numbers in the appropriate places.

What diameter are they?

about 90mm face. Kawasaki KDX [another 2-stroke single with electronic tacho] are smaller
