having problems with my rear brake hub on my TV175 original hub i think, brakes have been poor since i got it earlier this year. I've tried adjusting the slack up on the brass nut at the rear, as soon as it get warm the brakes start to bind. also wheeling it backwards seems to be free and then binds again on certain revolutions of the wheel. Been to MB and bought new pads, cable, cam, clips washers etc. Also lost a number of locking washers cos the stud seems to have worked loose and fell off. Anyhow spent all morning putting the the new stuff on and nipped to the bottom of the road to try it with hub bolt tight but no washer on and the wheel started to work loose,I know the washer is to lock the nut off but would the nut come loose that quick and work the wheel loose or could the hub be Knackered.
If the hub needed replacing which is best Italian or SIL which MB have?
sorry this goes on but not easy to explain!
cheers.

Hubs are a whole can of worms. A decent one is hard to find. Most new ones are horrible and if the cone doesn't match exactly it'll never sit straight. RAMP are to be avoided and the rest have dubious Quality Control that means you might get lucky and buy a perfect one or you might get an off-centre, oval horror.

Have you considered whether you've actually got a loose gearbox endplate, or your cone's the wrong type, or you've no washer under the cone
