I am toying with the idea of getting a wrecked Rapido re-sleeved.
I assume I will be able to use an oversized piston to possibly acheive 230cc, can anyone reccomend a quality piston that will also be available in oversizes for future use?
Re- sleeving Rapido -which piston?

H2 goes from 71mm to 73.5mm
You can't just put a liner in a Rapido due to it's original construction of the aluminium being cast around the fixed steel liner. There is a thread on either this forum or the LCGB on this very subject

Have you got a link to the thread gadgetman? I'd use the search facility on there if it wasn't so shockingly useless
the only thread I can find is one I started when the original damage was done , there was a suggestion on there that I get it resleeved by someone that had already had it done.

If it aint broke.........tinker with it.....
Will try to find it when I get more time.
why not try another route and get hold of a damaged cheap alloy 200 or 225SR barrel and reline that.
Bet there are a few kicking about as I would imagine that plenty have seized etc due to poor tolerances etc etc
These are genuine type liners and so not like the Rapido. Then with a 70mm piston you have alot of rebores / hones available and you can get a 230cc with a 60mm crank? This will also save you opening out the crankcase mouth if you to 72mm + via your other route?
Worth a thought?

I've got a knackered Rapido barrel & a 71.5mm wiseco H2 piston, one day I'll have the time to try them out....grimspeed wrote:dont see why not!byron wrote:how much can they take ? is 71.5mm feasible ? would that be the limit ?grimspeed wrote:how bad is the damage?can you not just bore it out to 71mm?
I did think about those cheapo ebay barrels, but the transfers on the Rapido are so much better to start with.
