theres quite a few things that i could mention dave that would be a great bonus ....
for eg ...
quality metal (phospher bronze) maybe.......bushes for rear brake pedals
....metal bushes/spacers for the top of pushrods in forks
.....and all the guides /bushes etc in handlebars to support gear change/throttle rods etc
.
all the above would be great, but i think i have an even better idea for you.....especially if you would like to turn a profit on your expendeture/investment on the lathe...and help fellow scooterists into the bargain......... :D
there is a great demand for these........and as yet a very limited supply.......
PIKE NUTS
you could make them from steel and get them chromed..
you could make them from S/S
personally i would love to see brass ones......... :D
consider it please....... :D

You can get chrome pike nuts from custom fasteners in wales.

I got quotes for having all lambretta pike nuts made in S/S (M6, M8, M12x1.25, M12x 1.6 and M16) and they worked out silly money.

and thats my point............they cost silly money
yet dave ,working at home with relatively low overheads could make these cheaper maybe..........and it would still pay him to do so........after all he,s willing to make up little things for nothing.........

any way dave,I for one would be willing to pay you ......if you could provide me with BRASS pike nuts.........
pm me or dan if you could help...... :D
also i would love to find a supplier for 6mm brass domed nuts........

pike nuts would be one for scooter loopy john - unless you are an expert machinist it would be a nightmare to make a batch of pike nuts that were all the same shape. great for someone with a capstan lathe or a cnc one.

point taken ian,.....I understand now ,its a job for a pro...
its just that back in the late 80.s i used to make my own at night school.....
take some hexagonal bar,cut it,drill and tap it ........mount it in the lathe and shape it........
then polish it a bit and send them of for chroming...... :D
they may have not been all totally identical/clones........but no one could really tell....unless they checked with verniers... :D
