Found these on an old disc this morning and forgot i had them, they were taken in Weston Zoyland early 2002.I had never sprinted there before and was doing so because it was a neccesary championship round. I was advised it was a bumpy track and they were right. In the morning i had to walk the whole 1/4 mile just to try and find a line that was rideable and almost pulled out,you can see the grass on the runway in the shot. The pics were taken by a proffessional photogropher Steve Saffin who incidently used to race scooters in the 1970,s. Pics 5 &6 were believe it or not at 100 mph just before the finish line and i went over at 102mph. what you dont see about 50 yards after the pic was taken was were i hit a pot hole on the track. The bike bottomed out and i smacked the chin area of the helmet on the head stock(it still has the piece missing out of it) my left foot come of the peg and tore straight through the leathers on my calf area. Somehow the bike stayed in a straight line and i managed to live and tell the story ,it was the nearest i came to comming off at high speed. People tell me straight line sprinting is easy believe me you are driving the bike flat out from the moment the clutch is "dropped " at 8,000 rpm on the start line, it is racing on the ragged edge.I had to return later in the year once more but that was it never to return again thank God.
