yes all parts will need to be striped down to individual parts prior to blasting ,chroming ,painting or what ever

no did not mean the arms that go on the wheel nuts. Okay you have the steel tube that then divides into the 2 forks ande has a metal ring just above the forks. is this one peice or does the tube part come away from the forks?

no mate ,if you take off the lower ball race ,then the circular plate under it will lift off and thats it mate

better way to describe what i mean. If you imagine the forks are an inverted Y, does the bootom part of the Y come away from the top of the Y?

okay then, so can give the blaster the forks as they are. silly question but i presume i have to take out the inards where the wheels hooks sit?

The forks are the whole thing____imagine the shape of a fork
However, part 84 on this diagram which is the bearing track, and the cover below do come off. If you're going to have the forks blasted and powder coated, you don't actually need to remove them as long as the bearing track is smooth and not too badly pitted. You can merely powder coat the part below.
A couple of suggestions_____bag up and label everything you take off so you know where it all goes back on. Take loads of digi photos to remind you later. When you come to get it all blasted, powder coated, painted, whatever, take it to someone who has done Lammies before. They'll know how to blast the various parts, otherwise, you might find some of the alloy parts have been blasted to smithereens.
The cowling____personally, I'd get a set of mole grips on it and pull it back into shape___an original one will still fit better than an aftermarket copy, believe me. You might want to consider opening it out anyway to allow you easier access to the exhaust nuts especially if you're putting a none standard exhaust on later.

cheers for that. Have been taking pics and have also freezer bagged everything. Now just a case of removing all the odds and sods from the frame and ill be ready to get it balsted.
Fingers crossed it comes back without to many holes.

I'm not trying to be some sort of anal sphincter here, but it sounds like you don't much about Lambrettas. You need help from someone with experience. The way you are heading you're going to break something and it might be a part of you!
Stripping them is the easy bit. Remembering how to put it back together is more tricky!
If you can't get help. Stop! and spend a week reading Sticky's book.
