Well its not rocket science Dan!

From what I've heard about them they aren't up to much......If they worked we'd all have them by now I reckon. :)

Yeah, im sure its not rocket science Ads, but as i've not seen one of these particular units before i thought i'd ask some basic questions....you know, like an EGT obviously goes on your exhaust....but the measurement from piston to EGT is very specific...a spark plug obviously fires....but the degrees at which it fires is very important.......i was after that type of specific info. I was also intrigued to know if it was power valve based in the Yamaha sense, or instead more like the Suzuki chamber units.........just questions Ads.

And i dont care how good the unit is, or if it works....i'm just expanding my knowledge......it pays to look into the stuff that flopped too, saves you wasting time going down any wrong paths in similar areas.

Your question was 'where does it fit?' not that specific really is it, thought it was a bit daft thats all.

You may not care whether they are any good or not, but this thread was started by somebody else who does. I was passing on the little i know about these to them.

Chill out big man. Anyway you never did PM me the reason for advising someone to use a 3mm packer and 110 rod on a standard TS1 barrel instead of std rod (no packer), ultimate setup I think you called it? I know this isn't the place for it so I'll await ya PM and look forward to sharing your ever expanding knowledge. ;)

Are we talking the AEVC that was on sale in the 80's? A friend had the JPS (John Player) Vespa in Harrogate that had everything PM sold then fitted to it...drops, pipe, anti dive and AEVC.

He was about to take it off when it just fell off it self...saved him a job. He'd already rounded the adjuster bolt off trying to get a setting that worked. It fouled with something underneath when two up. Just seemed a gimick so you could plaster AEVC sticker down side of bike.

That was 20 years ago. If they were onto a winner with them we'd have seen something similar on sale since. Call PM and ask them about them. Paul Melici still runs it so he's gonna remember.

i had one on a pm pipe.
it worked for me adding a little extra torque et low revs.
they work by adding volume to the pipe at low revs then as the pressure
builds up with revs the diafram closes the valve and you end up with the standerd pipe.i lent the pipe to a very ex freind who chopped the valve off then sold it behind
my back to a well known scooterist from atherton who used to have red hair.
when he found out it was borrowed it was given back and affor mentiond ex
freind was given a good pasting.
i have a horrible feeling.things are going to go bang
