Been running a ts1 225 for several years now but thinking about taking it up to 230 or 240.
Is it worth it? Do the benefits outweigh the costs? Which option do people think is best?
Realise it is can only be a personal opinion but would apprectae anyones thoughts.
230 or 240?

I have ridden a couple of 240's that are faster than my TS1 225, one was alot quicker.... But not as smooth as the 225 for touring...
As Sean says your 225 could be tuned for more power...

Must admit i hadnt considered tuning the 225
Everyone i speak to seems to have gone down the 230 or 240 route!
I have a standard 225, kit straight out of the box bolted on to a stage 4 200 built by from Andy Francis, changed the crank for af rayspeed crank, delly 34 flatslide, jl3, cam lam 5 plate clutch.

Sean's advice is good. I know of a tuner with a rather "low-reading" dyno that can consistently achieve 30bhp without welding. It was still an extraordinarily rideable scooter, pulling a smooooth 30mph in 4th through town.
Probably the best engine I have ridden, but it needs a good crank and a top quality piston (plus other bits) but extra cc's are not required to make more smiles per hour.

Martin
