Removing the Brake Pedal

Hello guys

how do you remove the pedal from the frame? I have disconnected the cable and removef the clip that clamped the lose end of the cable etc bit I can't see what's holding It in place now.

I have an api series two lambretta.

there should be a circlip on the shaft if not a bolt (poss 10 mm spanner head)in the centre.the return spring will still be under tension take care,

Thanks for the advice Joe, I have taken everything that’s attached to the pedal but i still can't get it off. There was a bolt holding the cable in place which was then clamped to the pedal with the spring clip but I had already removed these

There is around a cm of play along the 'peg' that the pedal is anchored on but I can't get it off..

Any ideas to what I’m missing... Apart from a big hammer!!!

Have you hurt your finger yet? Says in my Innocenti shop manual for S2/S3's that a bloody finger is an absolute requirement for rear brake pedal removal, page 39.

yeah I have a few cuts! So I'm doing something right... Anyone recomend a place to buy the book? Done a few google searches and there seems to be variations of the workshop manual.

The brake return spring will be looped under the front half of the pedal arm very tightly. You will need a spring puller, or something very strong to hook under the spring, pull it down and let it back up behind the arm to release it (more bloody fingers if it slips off), then the pedal, if you've released the circlip on the end of the pedal shaft, will slide off. It may need a few taps with a soft faced mallet (more bloody fingers if you miss and hit your fingers)

I will have to have a close look. I could feel a groove for a circlip but i can't see/feel it. All the same colour rusty colour after cleaning..
