So hanging the crankcase from hook onto the conrod and marking TDC on the flywheel is not good enough?

This is fine as long as you take into account the gravitational pull of the 2 moons encircling around the earth

If only my Physics teacher had taught us about gravitational pull using your avator, I may have taken more notice.
As for TDC I have a 6inch nail in a roof joist in my shed. Crank in, the case put the flywheel on next and hang the hole thing up mark the magside casting and its done.
I have never built a fire breathing beast like some of you guys do but works for me.
