This first reed-block is standard...

This one has been flowed a little.. All sharp edges removed & flowed in the direction of airflow...

These are Two Standard reed Petals... one has been trimmed to remove any excess reed material and then the edges dressed with 800 grade wet & dry to prevent Feathering of the Reed material when in use...

The reed petal on the right has been narrowed and shortened a little, but enough material is left to safely close the inlets on the reed-block to ensure a good operation of the reed assembly...
The whole modification takes about an Hour or two to do, but usually increases reed life by a big margin and low end performance is better as the reeds react better from lower induction air speeds... IMO...
This is then assembled and if the reed securing screws protrude into the intake aperture (this is the threaded end) they need to be filed or ground smooth... But be careful not to catch the reeds with the file... If they are recessed the holes that are left need to be filled with Devcon or another suitable petrol resistant filler then polished smooth...
