Looking for opinions or experiences of what people believe to be the best cylinder kit for small block (125cc, 150cc). I know it will be horses for courses but I am looking to get a series 2 for resto project and will also upgrade the engine. I have a series 3 Li150 with the Mugello 186 fitted and I am very happy with that but wondered what the alternatives were like. Not particularly looking for high speed or long distance touring just a good all rounder really that is reliable. Reliability is the key factor for me.

i have a rt195 works well and very reliable teamed with an ancillotti exhaust and a pwk 28,but maybe what you have already you should keep and maybe just look at exhaust or carb options or maybe just leave well alone, iam sure the difference would be hardly noticeable defo not worth the extra cost

I am not looking to replace the Mugello in my S3. I am after opinions on alternatives for another project. Appreciate you taking the time to reply though. I am very happy with the Mugello. I’ve not had any issues at all (up to now anyway)nick b wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 8:19 pm i have a rt195 works well and very reliable teamed with an ancillotti exhaust and a pwk 28,but maybe what you have already you should keep and maybe just look at exhaust or carb options or maybe just leave well alone, iam sure the difference would be hardly noticeable defo not worth the extra cost

The Scootopia kit is not a fast option but it is reliable and gives plenty of torque.

Best current small block kit in my opinion the Quattrini but that’s not what you want , I would say the GT186 power , torque and reliability great little kit also the mugello 198 I’ve done a few they seem bulletproof
As my Dad used to say "Each to their own lad"

Could you recommend an exhaust to go with this set up. I would prefer to keep the original profile so an Ancelotti style if possible. I use the scootopia 42mm with my Mugello
Cheers,
Paul
