Hi.
Having a problem with my 1981, stock P200e, in that it will not run flat out in 4th gear! It is fine in 1st, 2nd,and 3rd, but as soon as it hits around 50 in 4th, it starts showing symptoms of fuel starvation. If I back off the throttle, it continues to ride okay! I thought this might be due to the cdi breaking down under stress, so bought a brand new ducati one, fitted it, but problem still exists! I am running 48 160 idle, 160 air, BE3 mixer, and 116 main. Starts okay, ticks over well. All jets have been cleaned out several times, so no blockages!
It's not a biggie, as I do not ride flat out very often, but I just want it to be 100%.
Anyone any ideas what might be causing this issue?
Thanks in advance.
Martin

Would that not cause problems in each gear? Problem only occurs at WOT in 4th!
Can anyone tell me how I can pick up 2 or more quotes to respond to. Only seem to be able to do 1 at a time!

On a px if the fuel line is too long it'll ride as you describe or even worse, keep knocking off but will restart easily. Wetgear or anything shoved under the seat can stop airflow to the carb and cause problems too. Has your petrol tank any rust or dirt inside? Maybe the tank and tap need to be cleaned. Try running with the petrol cap off just to rule out a blocked breather and the tank getting airlocked....I can't think of anything else. Good luck with it!

Thanks Paul. Nothing under seat, and as far as I can see, tank is clean. Will check for blocked breather though as not done that yet!paul d wrote: ↑Thu Oct 18, 2018 12:58 am On a px if the fuel line is too long it'll ride as you describe or even worse, keep knocking off but will restart easily.
