Thanks for all the replies and info Garry, Paul and Daggs.
Definitely red, green and black from MB loom to headset.
It is the grey plastic CEV junction box
Wires from stator are white, red, green, yellow.
I may well swop the kill switch for an ignition key. Did not realise that was possible.
What are the risks to getting the wires wrong in the headset? It’s not likely to explode on me is it ?

I have now connected up all of the wires in the headset to the headlight junction box
All 3 Blacks together (loom, switch & speedo bulb)
Red from switch to bulb
Blue from switch to bulb
Red form loom with Brown from switch
Green from loom with Green from kill switch
Yellow in yellow position
Earth in white position

I am now left with a Purple loop from the Red wire of the loom and a Grey wire from the switch. Any ideas where these should go?
There is no Orange wire at all.

I'm in Longford just off junction 3 M6. Really appreciate the offer. The scooter isn't running yet as I haven't fitted the carb or adjusted the cables so it may not be practical until it is?

What you can do is rig two wires from a 12v battery take negative to an earth on the scoot and take the Brown from the loom that goes into the regulator and that will get your electrics going then you can mess about with the wires to get everything working

As I've said before, the purple wire is the main AC power wire. The main loom power wire is red,it goes to the regulator, from there it goes to the brake light switch and changes from red to purple and then to the horn where it changes to the brown wire.

Paul, The main loom wire is red all the way through from the regulator to the brake light switch, to the horn and then up to the headlight junction box. At the headlight junction box end there is a bullet connector. Looping back out of that bullet connector is a purple spur which is around 6" long with another bullet connector on the end. This is the only purple wire anywhere. I have put the main loom red with the brown from the switch. I am now left with a grey from the headlight / horn switch and the purple spur from the red main loom. Looking at the diagram on MB site it shows the purple spur looping into another connector stating "piggy back to feed parking lights"
