These days I'm not normally beaten by lambretta stuff, but I am now. Just re-built a series 2 150 engine to put it back into the original frame. Big spark and wet plug, but it will not fire up. I've tried to bump start it down our lane, but nothing. I've stripped down the carb and everything is working there, as well as the choke. Sprayed easy start with filter stuff off and fires up straight away, but then dies as easy start burns up. Just changed carb and still same problem. I appreciate that both carbs are jetex, which I have never had a problem with, but you would at least expect the engine to at least run. Now I haven't checked the timing, but it can't be a million miles out and I would not have thought it would stop it firing. Petrol may be a year old, but again I would have least thought that it would fire. Finally, piston right way up and compression good. Any ideas????

i'd change the fuel.

Big air leak may be an issue, might be worth leak testing.

Get mates scooter with running Dellorto fitted...bolt it on yours, see if runs.

If runs, bin Jettex.

It's definately a fuel problem because it starts ok with easystart.

All sorted now. It was a half a litre of old petrol, sat in the tank,
that was not firing. Just cleaned all old fuel out, new petrol and fired up straight away. Video on FB under Lambretta Tuning page.

Ha ha, your right Martin. By the time I'd pushed it back, my eyes were like blood oranges on stalks. Anyway, I soon recovered after a squirt of easy start.
