Perhaps the viets might be the people for SR to team up with over the large ordering of caseings, just a thought ;) .

If it has taken SR 4 years to sell 750 casings then the last 250 they have should take another 16 months before they're gone ;) ....So.... no need to panic there's plenty of time to get one :bald:

Does anyone know who's selling the cheapest 200cc &/or 150cc crankcases at the moment?

They'll be gone in less than 16 months if everyone knows that no more are going to be made!

I'll be having a couple me thinks
I do not try to explain why I ride Lambrettas,
For those who understand, no explanation is necessary,
For those who don't, no explantion is possible.

To be fair I've always experienced great customer service from SR. One question though . . . why has the price gone through the roof if the casings were bought in 2005?

There's always been rumours and backbiting around casings where some companies try to scupper others sales . . such as the "offset rear brake" story which I believed because they are . . until I realized it's std innocenti as the original Italian casings are the same

The reason why we sold the 200cc casings so cheap before, was because all the other UK and European dealers were buying casings direct from Indian Exporters based in India in small batches of between 10 to 50.

We were supposed to have the exclusive on the 1,000 casings, with a new batch for 1,000 casings every 2 years, but as usual SIL decided to sell the casings to everybody else. So we had to sell the casings at cost price to compete.

Now that the Indian Exporters price has doubled, we can now sell our casings at a more realistic price and still be cheaper than other dealers.

he means the brake pivot hole being machined 1mm off its center i have never had a problem though and never come across any casing in 10 yrs that ive had or worked on that have had a problem im more inclined to blame brake shoe problems as the couse to why on shoe touches befor the other and i belive thats well documented esp with some italian shoes
