I thought I would ask if anyone flows reedvalves when building up their engines, as its somthing I have always done and wondered if anyone else did and how..??

I dont mean just blending the manifold to the reed block, but actually flowing the reeds so that "in theory" they respond better from lower pressures which helps flow more air fuel mix... and if so how would you go about it... :?: Just the block..?? The stays as well..?? And what do you do to the reeds (besides changing for softer stiffer or carbon fibre etc)...

I know some people run V force & others use Yam Reed blocks and Dual stage reeds but these can be flowed as well so what if anything are people doing to improve things... Besides fitting pack pieces under the block..?? :?:

The thing in the 80s was to bend the stops back a little 2-3mm had to be done gradualy and to the same amount on all stops, might be out of fasion now.

But I`m sure you know that already

A Couple of thousand TS1's have been sold & probably a few hundred RB's, & no one seems to know about flowing reeds.... Looks like its a secret thats worth keeping then... ;)

Don't know much but I'm learning, best thing to do with reed valves I find is to get your local scooter god to work his magic on it, it's all hocus pocus to me. ;) A nice smooth delivery is what we want with no obstructions :frog:

Ralph showed me what he did to reeds on his sidecar engines , but im not intelligent enough to explain it in print

i also wished i had tried it earlier as i dont really notice any difference with v force over these
