I changed my stator for a new BGM one this weekend and this (so far) seems to have improved my setup considerably. I'll try my one from Anthony Tambs on a different engine at some point as I'd like to get to the bottom of what gremlin it has. I think I've just been unlucky as there's lots of people who are using his stators with no issues. What was strange is that with both internal & external pickups I could not get the kheper v3 working, like there's some kind of electrical noise that was upsetting it. With the BGM & internal pickup it's now working fine, so I can now get to grips with it. I've left the external pickup on at 17° but unconnected, thinking I can hook it up to a static CDI for a 'get me home' option if needed.
Getting a bit of a stutter in acceleration between 4,000-4,500 RPM so trying out some different curve options to see how I smooth this out. On my current curve this is where I go from 22° to 24°, so will try something at 24-flat at that range and another that only goes to 22.
Hopefully I'll iron this out & then I think it's time to go on a Dyno. My closest looks like Shiny Red Tuning in Stroud, anyone used them before?

I also tried one of the external pickups from Anthony with my Kheper and it wouldn't rev over 4000 rpm.
I too have left it on but disconnected it and returned to my previous stator.

Did it act like a rev limiter Eden? reason I ask is that I fitted one of Ants external jobbies and had to disconnect my Mtech as it wouldn't rev up on the stand, just hit a walleden wrote:I also tried one of the external pickups from Anthony with my Kheper and it wouldn't rev over 4000 rpm.

yes.
I tried different alignment distances etc but still the same.

one day ill get around to trying it will a standard CDI, but tbh, it will only be if my kheper ever goes down.

Same here, worked like a rev limiter.
I've ran the external pickup with with a £15 Scootopia CDI at 17° and it was usable (200 miles-ish), so it's handy to leave it fitted & carry a cheap CDI for emergencies.
