just putting my bike back together after a big winter overhaul and noticed this. I'm sure it was fine when I took it off, but I guess I wasn't paying attention as it's only been run for 5 minutes since rebuild to set timing.

what's the best course of action? get it brazed? I suspect it will just crack again, but it'll be a canny bit cheaper than getting a new pipe (£200 plus they have none).

I would go for a gori race 50mm but they're £300!

i would weld that up, and put a patch over it so it wont split again, i guess it must have been a bit tight when fitted and the vibrations have split it, dont suppose your coming anywhere near hull so you could drop it off ?

No, it's a bgm so their mounting arrangement make them stress-free. Otherwise I'd have concluded the same thing. I can't really understand how it happened.

I never get near hull these days but thanks anyway. It's due a dyno session as I've had the barrel and head modified plus a 60/110 crank. So I'll see if Mick Abbey will kill two birds with one stone. He's only a 30 mile ride from mine.

I put it on not long before the breighton ferry rally last year, but I'd owned it since at least a year before that. It spent a long time under my bench.

I'd guess that it's covered around 1000 miles.

Thanks, I did think about that but the engine is nice with the bgm and has a much larger downpipe so I think the rs may hold it back a little.

Plus there'll probably be a bidding war on that.
