Genuine OMG fast flow is a good product and have served me well on all my TS1s, and i'm sure countless others. Reserve is a bit high but once you understand your mpg it's no issue.
There are loads of shite ones out there that look like OMG...... mate of mine bought a 'fast flow' tap from a dealer and it fell to bits - when I saw it, it looked like an OMG but no logo and the internals were shocking - he paid more than what AF sell genuine ones for!
I've got got scootopia one on the shelf - will have a good look at it today
Scootopia fuel taps??

Marty, I'd just bin it mate the longer pipe of your old OMG tap won't fit as the holes are bigger on the Scootopia, I got a genuine OMG fast flow from Rayspeed for a tenner so it's really not worth messing about + their tap comes complete with a new swivel, 2 split pins and even a new lever/arm.
As above lots of stuff that looks like OMG but the real thing has the name cast into it. I bought a copy one off Beedspeed last year when I Dident know any better and although it turned on ok I couldn't get any fuel to come out!
I also found a genuine Taffspeed modified OMG for £29 not sure how that works though.

I got two, the first one stripped as I was trying to stop it dripping, They sent me another. I then used the second one and was very careful knowing the threads were poor quality, I left it a little loose and it kept dripping, I nipped it up to try and stop the leak and again it stripped even though I was 100% aware of the problem. At some time during all this process I recommended one to a pal and his stripped also. It is like the metal the body of the tap is made out of is to soft and the threads are not formed very well. I was attracted to them as the plastic types ones have broken in the past. I lost a virtually full tank of fuel as well when one Scootopia one let go.
I sent them a message using their online contact form and they never replied. I couldn't remember the transaction number or order number, I did think to post them all back but never really got round to it.

I've got to say that it does worry me when I'm out on my scooter. First time I nearly ran out. I thought five litres would do it. I was a long way off. The benefit of the OMG taps is that when you go on to reserve you know you can put five litres in. Which is handy, because my LML measuring jug is graduated for five litres at three percent.

To be fair I've had mine for nearly a year so they'd probably tell me to bugger off, as for my friend I've not heard what he did.storkfoot wrote:What have Scootopia had to say about these issues?

The info might be of some use to those of us who have already bought and using a Scootopia tap.Scooterdude wrote:Marty, I'd just bin it mate the longer pipe of your old OMG tap won't fit as the holes are bigger on the Scootopia, I got a genuine OMG fast flow from Rayspeed for a tenner so it's really not worth messing about + their tap comes complete with a new swivel, 2 split pins and even a new lever/arm.

I very much doubt that they would. In my experience, they do care about their products and reputation. I'd strongly suggest you telephone them.Scooterdude wrote:To be fair I've had mine for nearly a year so they'd probably tell me to bugger off, as for my friend I've not heard what he did.storkfoot wrote:What have Scootopia had to say about these issues?
For what it's worth, I have a Scootopia tap fitted on my TS1 now, albeit that it has done only a few miles since fitting. I was actually pleasantly impressed with the quality. As regards the perceived issue with reserve, I prefer raising the seat and looking in the tank

For imformation my Scootopia tap measures 27mm from the base of the threaded part to the end of the brass tube, this gives a reserve of 300 ml.
The original OMG tap measures 38mm giving a bit more, I'm not to sure what the new tap measures as I never bothered but I cut about an inch off the standard pipe it came with giving me 1 3/4 litres reserve (if your struggling to remove the filter it's a screw fit rather than a push fit).
