Top secret mate, that's all I'm prepared to divulge haha but remember with the solder method you have to allow for piston sway/slap.Morgan wrote:"Managed to get the squish down to 1.64mm without a head gasket (which I've been shown how to do properly without buggering about with bits of solder"
I'd be interested in this method. how is it done ?

oh shucks, I feel bad now. But no sorry I can't say anything. And yes I know all about fellow scooterists......about a hundred of the mothers passed me staring when I seized on the way back from Wicksteed without stopping to ask if I was ok despite the massive skid mark across the road haha.Morgan wrote:................ cheers for the thatScooterdude wrote:Top secret mate, that's all I'm prepared to divulge haha but remember with the solder method you have to allow for piston sway/slap.Morgan wrote:"Managed to get the squish down to 1.64mm without a head gasket (which I've been shown how to do properly without buggering about with bits of solder"

Yes I can see were you are coming from and would have to agree with you but the rub is I'm quite prepared to help others with my mechanical knowledge and my limited knowledge of Lambretta mechanics as and were I can.HxPaul wrote:You seem pretty quick to ask other scooterists for help though.....just saying like !Scooterdude wrote:oh shucks, I feel bad now. Nothing wrong with the solder method, nor the cut plasticine, nor any other method that works for you. If you end up with the same answer, who cares how you get there... it's not like we're still at school and have to show our workings (lol)!
Just place the solder on crown above were the gudgeon pin locates and you wont get rock.
