I've just built a GT with a LI 150 box on standard sprockets 15/46. I'd say it was under geared, which was handy for the highland hills I'd been on at the weekend :D on the A roads it's pretty loud at 60 mph. Anyone recommendations welcome

16/46 on that box. I tried 17/46 but it didn't quite pull it. Somewhere between the two might be ideal.

That's with an mb/bgm Clubman

Agree with the above, you can run 17/46 but this is better with a 30mm and an expansion. All in the manual BTW

What sprocket set up & chain for a GT 186 with BGM clubman & cyclone? 28mm Dellorto jetting would be very helpful too.

cheers

I was running Li150 17/46 with my GT186 (60/110 crank)/30mm Delly/Fran Race but found it struggled to pull the gearing a little so changed to 16/46 which is much better.

My GT200 kit with 30mm Delly and BGM Clubman pulls Li150 17/46 gearing no problem

Just been out on a jetting run.

GT186 with extra boost port in the casings and cylinder, LI150 16/46, 30PHBH with Ram Air and TSR Evo exhaust.
Clocked a GPS of 70.46 mph and Im 16.5 stone.

Im very happy with that and glad I listened to the advice here and on LCGB and from Richard Taylor to go the 16t front instead of the 17.

As did I, it was terrible mate. I would say i would never buy another, though of course I managed to adapt the exhaust hangar that was the main problem so of course if i bought another I would simply reuse the current hangar I guess. But I would not recommend them after this hassle.

Oh and another problem is the rear exhaust hangar bracket for the tail pipe. It all fits fine, however you will (or I did) have to cut your panel as the panel hits where the hangar is connected to the engine casing :-/

On saying that it's performance is good, power band is awesome but im sure no different from a franspeed that I likely should have bought in the first place.

I'm building a GT 186 engine to run with a 28mm PHBH, BGM clubman and a 60mm crank with a 110 rod. I have a 150 Li gearbox and I'm torn between 16 x 46 and 17 x 47 gearing. Will 17 x 47 be a little too tall for the set up, any advice ?

17/47 gives you 4.7 and 16/47 gives 5.

I tried both on mine with 30phbh and bgm clubman. 4.7 was unpleasant but 5 was nice. I'm running a 58 stroke crank though.
