Panel edging
We're would you get side panels properly edged after trimming them. Car panel beater ?

I’ve just finished doing this to a sidepanel today.
If you can weld, you can do it yourself.
If you cant weld, you can do all the other work required yourself to keep the cost down.
I took some photos of the work in progress which I can up load for you tomorrow.
Basically, you need to cut the Panel out first.
Take a 4mm steel bar and bend it to the shape of your cut out, the rod needs to sit on the inside of your sidepanel about 8mm above the cut out.
Weld the rod onto the inside of your panel. (Spot welding is strong enough )
Heat up the edges of your panel a bit at a time, (about 5 cm at a time), use a pair of big pliers to take hold of the edges of the panel and the steel rod and bend the panel edges up to meet the steel rod.
To get the panel edges around curves, use lots more heat and hit the panel edges with a hammer.
Last step, heat about 5 cm at a time back up and hit the edges with your Hammer to get rid of all the little creases and folds that came from using your pliers.
You should have, by now, nicely rounded off panel edges.
Dont forget to Sand or file the edges on the inside down a bit to get rid of any sharp edges.

Yes nice work challenger when I read your reply yesterday I thought flipping heck but now you see the pics it's not as bad as I thought great job I bet they look good on the scoot

Thanks guys, was my First attempt and im quite happy how it worked out.
Im building a removable frame loop, the loops finished, just needed to do the other sidepanel and weld them both onto the loop.
Next stage will be filling the gaps and getting it all smooth for paint.
Ill be using tin instead of filler. After the tinning, Ill be coating the inside of the loop and Panels with fiberglass.
The Loop is cut off above the choke and Petrol Taps so the panels are longer at the front.
I need to cut the other loop off my Scooter so I can modify the frame tube to fit, Not looking forward to that at all as its a big step for me to take. ( The new loop is for my custom scooter Legio X which I posted on show your ride, which means the frame will need repainting)

Dont know if you can make it out on the photos, but the loop is very short at the front end.
What looks like a jet 200 Vented toolbox door isnt one, the vents are on the other side.
The vented plate was an electric cover off a crane which I found in the Scrap bin.

Thanks very much for that, what you have done looks excellent. Hope mine come out as good
