Evening!
Thinking of having a play with my gearing, current set up:
TS1 225
TMX 35
Franspeed SuperTourer
AF Road cassette clutch
AF Close Ratio gearbox - 46 x 18(i think it's 18!)
What would be the difference in increasing the front sprocket? I have a 19 and a 20 - would like to effect change in fourth - 1-3 are fine but a bit of a screamer in fourth. Great for acceleration (rapid!) but not so nice once in fourth for any amount of time.
Any thoughts?
Many thanks.
Scott
Changing front sprocket on CloseRatio box ????

hi scott,
it will depend on the tune of your engine, your weight, do you ride solo, is it hilly near you, all factors to take into account, i would try the 19 first, you might find the 20 a bit too much, although i did have a 20 on my ts1 but i had the barrel shortened by .5mm and read spacer, mb inlet, completly transformed the engine and gave it a lot more torque, set the squish to 1.5 at the same time or maybe 1.2 cant quite remember now, might just have to try it and find out, i do like low gearing.

Thanks Holty, no tuning done on it, medium build, always solo, and I live in Wales so there are a few hills! I'll go up one on sprocket and see what it's like. Spent a fortune on this engine so want to enjoy riding it! hope my jetting want be put too far out with changing sprocket? Not long had it dynoed

Yes, I think that's the best idea, just try the 19 and see if you like it, I guess your impressed with the ratios of the gears, they make for fun riding don't they, once you've got your front sprocket sized correctly you will be able to extract all the performance from your ts1, in my view a very good kit
