I shall say this only once... ahhem.
Anyway, I thought the original topic (the lost or deleted one) was what to use in a Jocky's lens/reflector unit. I agree the old Lambretta or probably worse the ebay "copies" are likely doing more harm than good as far as light output is concerned with any light source.
My Cibie 7" headlamp on the bike is far better - beam control, whiteness of light - than the original fitment that guzzi provided. Unfortunately they are no longer unavailable, and standard headlamps in quite a few modern bikes are still deplorable.
Do you still have the original crap lens/reflector?
Like I said, I have after market HID's in the car and they are great, I'm a big fan and a bargain at £25 a pair from Londoncolour on ebay. The car however has projector units which are designed to control the HID light output correctly - a "normal" lens and reflector are just overwhelmed and not focused correctly, and while the light down the road may be fine for the rider, the dazzle for oncoming vehicles can be huge.
HID's also have a bit more ancillary baggage which is needed to be accommodated.
