this is something i thought about myself, better than binning them, and cheaper than getting the other "handed" type. needs something a bit stronger on the drive side as they are the only ones i,ve had fail but put the pair in anyway. think i will start just replacing them(kickside) instead of pairs.kejj wrote:I cured my vibrations problems by fitting a SIL mount on flywheel side and keeping the scootopia one on the kick side. Became much better directly.
bad vibrations
Just to report back, i was hoping the one scootopia mount on kick side would soften up and eventually it did. But soon after the rubber started cracking and after last weekend rally the splitt has grown and vibrations are worsened again.
So, yes, Scootopia mounts doesn't suit tuned Lambretta engines.

I fitted BGM and was ok then started suffering mea vibration on throttle side, almost couldn't grip. Turned out it was a loose flywheel cowling!!! Now sorted and no vibration at all
Ive just ran in another motor with scootopia mounts over the last 2 weeks and again after 500 miles they have softened up. 750 miles now and no cracking.
My waterproofs concerned me much more today

How do you get the double mount off with the standard tool?
Well. I was happy when the one mount softened, but was very surprised when new vibrations came into play and I saw a long crack in the mounts rubber. Irritating. It's not like I love changing mounts.
In iron Lambretta cylinders we trust!

No idea, only just fitted it,I'll figure that out when it needs changing. If the worst came to the worst,I'd saw in half and use a standard tool.kejj wrote:How do you get the double mount off with the standard tool?

I see Scootopia have just released a revised engine mount with slightly less and also a softer grade rubber. Good to see them accepting there were issues and taking steps to rectify the situation, full marks Scootopia!
