Mine is an A/C 12v system with a white Zenon headlight.Just to confirm, when I brake with the LED rear, the headlight doesn't dim but stays bright.Scooterdude wrote:Is yours the full DC system with battery? Mine is AC no battery and I'm using a 55watt halagen front bulb which is very bright, but as you say when you brake even with the led back bulb the front light almost dies.HxPaul wrote:Just for a bit of balance,I have used an LED bulb in the rear of my series 3 for over a year and it is not dim but quite bright, the best part about it is that when I use the back brake the lights dont almost go off,but stay bright.
I read somewhere those led back light units must be used only with DC current ?

2 I am using just now are both off e-bay.
One has a white plastic backboard and a large number of rear & brake lights in strips fixed on with tie wraps. Very good , loads of light and brake , was made by a scooterist , - £20 I think.
Other is a £5 universal led rear light , took the light unit out of the casing/lens and easily fettled to line up with lammy rear light screws, also very good.
The BGM ones I had both packed in on the braking lights part of the light although the rear light still worked.
