Do you pay up-front for something that is "not in-stock"?
More Fool you.
Pipe Design Exhausts
I'm going to ask the person who paid for it on her credit card to see if she can claim it back in some way. I don't think she was aware that pipes were not in stock. I think she wanted to give me the choice. Marco told me that no money normally changes hands until a pipe is built which would be in keeping with what you say Juan. As you can see it was different in my case I.e. a voucher. I do see a difference between the building trade and online purchases though. I too, do not pay for work until completion in that respect.
If I can get out of the situation and find myself in a position to buy a different pipe does anyone have any suggestions ? It's going on an RB20. I wanted something a bit special after my Franspeed race gave up the ghost. I see Chiselspeed are making pipes again

I have a PipeDesign exhaust and delivery and service was very good.
When I asked him about his new Nitro pipes a couple of months ago he said he'd broken his elbow and was struggling to make progress on them.

You certainly wouldn't pay your builder fully upfront for an extension nor your Plumber for a new central heating system. So why some Geezer from another Country who, odds on, you'll never meet? Is it because he's a "scooter guy"? Obviously sound then.
Sorry, don't want to sound like I'm p1551ing on your chips, neither that it excuses him by any margin, but it's naïve at best.
I've bought two guitars from someone from another country, each close to a grand, paying up front. One was out of stock and I had to wait a week.
At least I was sure it had been made.
I think a few one man scooter suppliers are often caught out by more demand than they can handle, or even a period of sickness. Then the wait time goes up, the bad mouthing comes and suddenly you don't have a business any more.
I think I understood your post fine, if I've missed something then please enlighten me.DigDug wrote:
Which part of my post didn't you understand?
Jist is you pay with a creditcard and can claim back if the service isn't as quick or as efficient as you'd like.
Question still stands that if you're happy to pay fully for something that doesn't say it's a special order and may take 2-3 working days, or even weeks, before it can be sent and is a vague "Awaiting supplies. Maybe tomorrow, next week/ month/ year/ decade."
Fine if you're happy with that, personally I'd look elsewhere or just forget it.
