They are not on the bend, it's probably where they are squashed by the straps. I may of over tightened them slightly.HxPaul wrote:If you have a copy of the second edition of sticky's manual, turn to page 147,under "carb removal" theres a photo which shows the orientation of the fuel tap and fuel tap rod.As for the rubbers, they shouldn't be on the bend.
Suggestions please.

I've found 3 of the little unions that go between the tap and rod. I'll shorten the rod slightly and hopefully the unions should give me enough flexibility to get a smooth enough action?Doom Patrol wrote:What about turning the tap in some more so that the rod passes behind the carb? Looks like the rod would be long enough.

I think the reason the rubbers look like there on the bend is because the tank needs turning (see EDIT in my last post)

You're missing the little brass knuckle that comes on the fuel tap, tap looks a little on the low side, tank straps are over tightened (squashed out rubbers) and you need to rotate the tank clockwise a little.
There is enough play in the tank/tap set up to clear almost every carb set up (especially the common ones).

It depends which side of the scooter you turn the tank, from the carb side its anti-clockwise.Grumpy225 wrote:You're missing the little brass knuckle that comes on the fuel tap, tap looks a little on the low side, tank straps are over tightened (squashed out rubbers) and you need to rotate the tank clockwise a little.

You need GP rubbers under the tank to lift it higher so you can rotate it anti clockwise.

Cheers guys, I'll adjust the tank to get it to sit right, however, I don't think that will help with the rod clearance issues.
