picture quality is great but come out a bit away from gear swivel to show more . want to see gear arm also and what gear if any is it in.
is this a new gearbox / selector or your only having problems since rebuild ?
won't shift into second

since rebuild. i changed the rear hub bearing to a casa one and fit it all back on together again. i can shift thtough all gears with the exception of the 2nd so i doubt this has anything to do with the arm or the loose gear position..

i take it you torqued down the rear hub then checked layshaft / endplate shim clearance, more than likely this will change as you changed rear hub bearing and have tightened the clutch nut ?

auch! i havent checked the measure of the layshaft/ endplate shim gap , i thought it was unnecessary since all the other parts remained the same could that be the reason
can bad shimming cause such a problem?

rear bearings differ and will alter the shimming , at least check endplate shimming but i would remove endplate and check gearbox / selector and gear fork/gear arm are set correct .

+1.You are also using the wrong gearchange trunnions, the ones you are using stand up too far and your clutch cable doesn't have a straight pull. When you op.erate the clutch it will put pressure onto your gearchange, moving the swivel.Minority wrote:Noticed that your inner is frayed, could that be causing problems (maybe frayed inside the outer as well). I'd be changing it anyway!
