A quick spritz with some carb cleaner?
Oil and grease anywhere on the contact surfaces won't help you get a grip.

Are you sure there isn't a groove on the manifold?

I'm running a GT200 (and a GT186 for that matter) with PHBH30 and the GT manifolds and they both have the groove. I use the MB grooved rubbers and only time I've had an issue with carb coming off has been down to user error, i.e. not tightening the clips up enough of too much. I always clean the rubber and manifold with carb clean before refitting as once they come off you will have fuel/oil on there which will not help it stay on one bit!

Used the CamLam rubber before with 26mm carb and that was always falling off, changed to MB and no more issues.

Ive always used radiator hose and only once did my carb pop off due to user error and thats once in 10 years.

Previous to this I used the "proper" all rubber one and it split so never again for those.

I used to cut my own but have to admit i'd run out and last time I bought one a couple of years ago was from this guy http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/dellorto-phbh ... xyVLNS7qST

no grove on mine, i've got a tool box now full all different hose , rubbers - clips- see how i go- - i think one of the problems may have been the actually back clips contacting the frame where the screw is ive moved it round see if that make any difference

The other problem can all so be the carb pressing against the side panel (depending on manifold) with the up and down movement of the engine making the carb come off, my carb hose was tight against the side panel until i modified the manifold.

Tried the Camlam hose. Found it totally useless. Went back to the standard type rubber and haven't had a problem since.
