Hi Coaster.......we disconnected the green from the loom and the bike will not start at all. The wiring is strangely wired up on the scooter, in that the wiring loom goes into the junction box (round black box) and then a second green attached to it goes to the CDI

Hi.......it was a head scratcher for sure, but the chap in question decided to bring forwards an engine rebuild so we stripped the engine and rebuilt it with a Mugello 200.
What we did find was the original indian crank had a bent conrod and 'heat bloom' marks (blue) against the big end bearing on the crank webs where it must have been rubbing........which would explain the slight 'whistling' sound we were hearing on kick over and idling (we thought it might have been the head gasket blowing) and thus the noise was the 'chaffing' I guess.
We did nothing to the electrical system and since the rebuild it has run like a dream.
