sydduckett wrote:Have tried the 34 delly today and wasnt an improvement so i guess its either the sprocket se up or the box, 4th is still not there, even worse with the 34 so back on with the 30. People seem divided on the best sprocket set up so im a bit stuck for what to try next. Have a spare JL2 pipe im going to give a go to see if that makes any difference but i cant really keep trying pipes, so does anyone have any suggestions. Got an li150 box would a Li125 be any better as a mate has a spare i coulds try that?
Have now done the 600 miles so will drop it down top 3% but dont think that is going to change things much. also i feel theres no point in getting it jetted/dynoed yet as it feels like a gearing issue?

Any suugestion in order of lowest cost first appreciated..

As you were

I'm with Al on this down to the exhaust try 5.0 ratio as that's where i'll be going when rebuilt
Also what's your jetting fella? You do know that the jl2 will need welding to suit the rb barrel....
On mine the franspeed race , struggles to pull 4th in adverse conditions but when in the power usually stays there but a bit all or nothing, type of kit i suppose :)
cheers Baz
p.s.
stick to 4% oil , when stripped mine down loads lovely golden oil deposits everywhere , and IF you ever have any issues with top end, they'll invaldidate warranty ;)

I have stuck to 2% on oil and used motul 800 or at a push 710 and no problems
TS1 and PX stay in the garage (future barn finds) out on the GTS 300 when I go out on a scooter.
I know I’ll get there and back

Yes that as maybe , but if you want to keep your warranty ( or big end bearing ) intact , that's what they reccomend... ;)

When my last RB went belly up on me the other week I stripped it and everything was a nice golden colour from using Rock Oil Synth 2 at 4%,always run at that and will never change despite a comment from a 'reputable'dealer telling me that it's the worst oil going and he wouldn't even put it in a lawnmower :D

I've never had a problem regarding oil issues it's just everything else with me :(

I just wish that everything was as reliable as the oil
I do not try to explain why I ride Lambrettas,
For those who understand, no explanation is necessary,
For those who don't, no explantion is possible.

The RB Franspeed race looks like the best on the market at the moment, the NK tourer looks like one of the worst.
