Maybe used ones, I've had 4 new pipes done in and out by them.

I know I'm gonna look daft, but why coat an exhaust on the inside?

Well,if your going to look daft, that makes two of us.I can see why you would coat an exhaust on the outside to prevent it rusting, but the inside gets covered in 2 stroke oil, which stops it from rusting.

It also gets very hot and in contact with a lot of other combustion bi-products some of which are undoubtedly corrosive.

They will rust from the inside out too.

Well exhaust in question, BGB clubman, has now arrived and first thing, the bloody manifold will outlive the scoot, it's thicker than the frame tube! I've had had good look at camcoat's site and I fancy the cool grey, inside only. So I'll give em a bell tomoz and get a quote

Personally, having had the internals of box pipes fall apart on several occasions (including my MB Clubman which has twice been cut open and re welded) I look open them as items that have a shelf life. For this reason, I'd never spend more than a tenner in coating them.

Isn't the whole idea of ceramic coating inside to aid gas flow on sports engines or have I missed something?

Not sure Stork, no one has really got a definitive. I can't see the coating smoothing the flow that much over plain steel and I doubt the effect would last long before it was coked up, I'll ask Camcoat tomorrow and report back
I just don't want a big shitty rusty box on my shiney GP

Again, all my opinion but I suspect it would work on an expansion pipe in terms of smoothing flow but on a box pipe, with all the nooks and crannies in them, it would be pretty pointless.

Whatever you decide to do, fit the exhaust to check fitment before you spend any cash ;-)
