I've got a ScootRS ignition switch on my Series 3 LI, no Dremelling was required.

Personally I prefer the key switch. At least it's one (all but minimal) line of defence. You can't start the scooter without a key unless you know about the green wire, whereas the kill switch enables anybody to start the scooter.
Takes me back to my interview to become an apprentice with Post Office Telephones when I explained how I had fitted a key switch in my Lambretta and also changed the colours from the stator and swapped the green in the loom out just to confuse potential thieves. They were impressed !

Ah now see yes, with a kill switch only then yes anyone can start it up, just as with ignition switch they can undo the green and still start it, thing is though, i don't rely on that for security at all anyway. Steering lock is always applied (albeit thats pretty weak) but i also have a kryptonite D lock as well as a simple cable lock - these are what I rely on.
Have to say though, I do like your idea of changing the wires on the cdi around

I guess im just saying that if someones putting in an ignition as a security deterrent then they may want to do a little research first so they realise how little it will do as a standalone measure that's all

Ah, thanks. The $ currency fooled me into thinking they were from the US.

I'd like to say that for security you need a big visible motorcycle chain lock and fix to another scooter or to an immovable object. Trust NOBODY !!
I use big chain and smaller cheaper one for helmets.
