Just got my engine running, but when I put in firstor second, the engine stalls. Its an AF road cassette clutch, and the lever on the top of the gearbox is moving ok.I have put sae 90 in the gearbox.I am thinking that maybe the plates have stuck together?
Thanks.
Clutch problem?
With the engine off pull in the clutch and kick it over, the kick start should smoothly go down.If it doesn't you need to tighten the cable.

Or the plates are sticking in the basket.
Did you check they all fitted smoothly before assembly? I have heard some say the road version sometimes needs a bit of fettling for smooth operation.

As above . The cassette should drop in and out of the basket freely. I find motul 2t 10/30 transoil much better than the st90.

Connecting the dots - are you using the AF clutch with an Li style side casing and cam?

If its been left for any length of time sometimes the plates wont seperate when put in gear with the engine running and the bike stalls. Its happened to my scooter on a few occations,in this case what I've done is rev the scooter as I put it into gear and this is usually enough to seperate the plates.

Does it have an optional nipple type centre for use with an Li casing?
I thought these were designed with the flat type centre for GP casing.
